Teaching philosophy

I teach so that students can move from a circuit or a swing equation to a judgement about whether a system will remain stable. In lecture courses I combine analysis with numerical implementation, because power-system work is done in models as well as in proofs. I want students to leave able to state assumptions, check a result against physics, and explain a margin such as critical clearing time in operational terms.
